I usually spend the other half of my time woodworking when I'm not painting. That is why I can usually go a year or two without painting because I'm making something out of wood. I made my own drawing table and chair. It helps me to create better. I made a nice chess table to go with my pewter chess pieces. I love to play chess but haven't done it in a long time.

Wow, thats wonderful :) I love the legs on the chess table, and the corners of the table that jut out make it a much more interesting piece. As a keen chess player its nice to see someone putting as much effort into the board as the pieces, kudos!

Hey, thanks, I was looking at your work. It's all very good and creative! That's what really interest me about woodworking. The uniqueness of different kinds of wood. Colours and grain. I try to keep as much beauty of the wood as possible.

Long time no read...thanks for the comment. Hope you are doing well :) The legs of the tables are made of diamond willow. They are called that because they sort of look like diamond shapes in the wood. A lot of people...well I mean the people that I've seen use diamond willow like to take the bark out of the diamonds but I think it looks better with it in there.
